Real Companhia Velha 2005 Vintage Port Wine 750ml

2005 was the warmst year in Portugal since 1880 and it was a drought year so a limited quantity of wines was produced but of extremely good quality.

Vintage is the highest quality of Port Wine there is represents only 1 to 2% of the whole production. Ages 2 years in French oak barrels of 500L and once bottle keeps ageing inside the bottle.

Very dark ruby colour. Nose is still a little closed. In the mouth fresh fruit youngness hints of jam notes of cocoa elegant tannins well present sweet with balance full body and a fresh and yummy after taste.

Perfect to enjoy with a sheeps milk cheese (Serra blue or stilton) and good rustic bread black chocolate or a wonderful roasted lamb.
